Bri Meets Books

Children's and YA literature reviews.

Category Archives: reading challenge

This one will be a feat.  I thought about how amazing it would be to read all of the Caldecott and Newberry winners, and wondered if it were possible.  Since a good chunk of those are picture books, I’d say yes, it is.
So if you’d like to participate, leave a comment. Feel free to take the image above (from one of my favorite winners, From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E Frankweiler) and use it on your own site.    Make up your own end date. 2010, 2011? Whenever you feel it’s possible.
There’s two options:
– You can choose to read from one category – either all Newberry winners or all Caldecott winners
– You can choose to read all the books from both.
Anybody game?  The beauty of this challenge is that these books are easily obtainable from libraries, etc, because of their age and popularity.   Just imagine after reading all of these, the education you’d get on the growth and evolution of children’s books.
Say hello to my little friend, Mr. Linky if you’d like to sign up.   Beside your name, write which part of the challenge you’re doing.
